Agenda for 27 October 2010 Sully District Council Meeting
by Jeff Parnes
  1. The Sully District Council will meet at 7:00 p.m. in the Sully District Governmental Center Front Meeting Room, 4900 Stonecroft Boulevard, Chantilly, VA, 20151. The meeting will be canceled if Fairfax County Schools or after school activities are canceled due to adverse weather the day of the meeting.
Note that as absentee balloting will be taking place at the Sully Government Facility up until 7:30 tonight, we have been informed that we can not discuss Transportation issues while the polls are open as there is a transportation referendum on the ballot. To accommodate this restriction, the Land Use issue will be discussed first, followed by the Membership meeting.

  2. Time to renew your association's membership in the Sully District Council. Our membership application can now be submitted on line! Please complete it, and then print a copy to enclose with your check.

  3. The minutes for the 22 September 2010 Sully District Council meeting provided by Priscilla Knight are available online.

  4. Land Use and Transportation presentation:

      • Proponent: Sara V. Mariska, Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley, Emrich & Walsh, P.C.
      • Action: Special Exceptions -- Long and Foster Hotels
      • Location: The Ellipse at Westfields is bordered by Lee Road (Route 661) on the west, Sully Road (Route 28) on the east, and Willard Road (Route 8451) on the south.
The Long and Foster special exceptions that were submitted on behalf of Headquarters 2, LLC, have been scheduled for public hearing before the Planning Commission on November 18. The two separate applications are identified as SE 2010-SU-012 (Lot 2) and SE 2010-SU-013 (Lot 4). The two special exceptions propose a limited service and full service hotel on Lots 2 and 4 of the Long and Foster headquarters property. These hotels are being proposed pursuant to the recent amendment to the Comprehensive Plan for the Long and Foster headquarters property (S08-III-DS1).
There have been no significant changes to the proposal presented as part of the APR process. The staff coordinator is Billy O'Donnell and it is expected that staff will recommend approval of the applications.
